Finally!!!

Can cross out one item from my wish list. Finally landed a plabuk. Wasn't that heavy at 13.44kg, but at least it gave a good fight compared to the thrice foul-hooked plabuk at FV. Well, seeing that I brought my 7' rod (my short rod has damaged rings) with 40 pound line (i think) in my reel, the action lasted about 10 - 15 minutes. Still, the line kept peeling out even though the drag was quite tight.

Very content at the moment. What would be my next target since I have already landed a plabuk? A bigger plabuk? Arapaima? Bangkok fishing?

Big Bad Wolf Book Sale, 7 - 16 September 2011.

Went to the sale on the first day itself . Took leave specially for this day, n order to beat the crowd. Had McDonalds breakfast at Puchong Gateway before heading to MAEPS. Upon reaching, we parked at the car park, and too a feeder bus to the main hall. It was 10.30 am, on a Friday, a working day and we still have to queue for about 15 minutes before being let in. The hall is HUGEEEE! Imagine the amount of people taking leave on this day just to come for the first day of the sale.

There were much more books than last year's sale. Plus there were more room to move about without knocking into other people. * Went again on Saturday a week later, second last day of sale, and meh... knocking to people everywhere. Anyway, damage done to the wallet were less than last years sale, possibly because I bought most of the books last year, and authors I read didn't publish any books during the time before this sale.

3rd Towfoo Challenge and potluck, 25 September 2011

That's how straight my rod is for most of the time during the competition, save for a 'ikan bandaraya' and a foul-hooked tilapia. Chickens were eating my bait whenever I leave my rod unattended. Competition were quiet where the amount of prizes were more than the participating anglers. In the end, only 3 prizes were awarded, with the rest of the prizes to go to the next competition.

Champion of the day was Babyjojo with a patin from her first cast. Second was Eric with a pacu, and third was iPlay with a tilapia. Fishes were not biting throughout the whole day, eluding even the resident pro, Bang Patin. Even Jimmy was unable to produce any magic. Apek managed to hook up what will be the winning patin, only for the fish to wriggle off his hook near the bank.

All in all, it was fun to mingle around with fellow anglers, and Mr. D's lamb shank briyani were fantastic, along with Jimmy's home made bolognaise sauce.

Another Kuala Lukut Jetty Trip

Same stuff, only this time we are joined my Mark. I didn't hook any fish this time, only netted some small fish and crabs with my crab net

update

Been a while since I last updated. Haven't done a lot of fishing myself. Just a few visits to Bukit Jalil and Pulau Meranti payponds. Results wasn't that great, so no pictures. Two visits to Kuala Lukut jetty worth mentioning. AC, Paul and me. Even though fishes caught were small, but it's a new experience. You'll never know what is going to be at the end of the line. Planning to go kelong at the same place in 2 weeks time. Hopefully weather will be good, and plenty of good size fishes.

Fish Valley, 5 March 2011

A half day trip. Reached FV at 3.30pm with AC and PakNgah. Jimmy and TJS were already there. Chat for a while and apparently bites were slow. Me and PakNgah set up side by side at AC Bamboo Grove while AC sat beside Jimmy and TJS.

I launched the first cast baited with hot dogs bought from mamak. PakNgah used his mix of dedak and got a leekoh. The hotdog bait was taken while I was chatting with the gang some distance away, and the fish got away when I got to my rod. Heavy rain halfway through the fishing. The kids beside me were landing leekoh non stop, even in the rain.

After the rain, bites were even slower. I landed a nice gold coloured leekoh on dedak, while the hotdog bait still hasn't had any takers. Near the end, I got a nice fat rohu on dedak too.

All in all, satisfied for landing a fat rohu, my first in quite some time, but not satisfied coz of the short time of fishing, and the heavy rain cut it even shorter. A rare pak kor visit for Jimmy, AC ate pak kor too, while TJS landed a few.
